Leatherface has directors, yes plural!

The next instalment in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise has found its directors, yes that is more than one director signed on the for the next film. It was only a few weeks ago that a shortlist of directors and the two who got the job were on it these are French directors Julien Maury & Alexandre Bustillo the directors behind French Horrors "Livid" and "Inside".

"The story will begin with the Leatherface character in his teenage years. He resides in a mental institution until he joins a pack of fellow patients who all break out and go on the run from the authorities."

Malek Akkad offers "Halloween 3" update

LONG time Halloween producer Malek Akkad has recently been speaking about the future of the Halloween franchise, here is what he had to say;

"It's been a joy to work with so many creative people - ten films," Akkad said, touching the franchise's legacy. "We're working on eleven as we speak. We're working on a script right now. A new draft - perfect timing - is supposed to hit the day before Halloween. Hopefully my Halloween night reading will be a good read."

Entertainment Today recently visited the Detroit set of Michael Bays fourth instalment in the Transformers franchise "Transformers: Age Of Extinction" and they have brought us a video check it out below.

Is it just me or is watching these videos some what magical? I realise how dumb that sounds, but come on they converted 4 blocks of Detroit to look like Hong Kong. The magic of movies still baffles me to this day and I am 23 an been watching movies since I was like a toddler.

"Tranformers 4" new pictures

Michael Bay and Paramount have been trying their hardest to keep information on the upcoming Transformers film under wraps. Today Paramount have released a few new images showcasing some of the autobots and their new look. The cars have to look top standard or they just don't look good as Transformers in my opinion, saying that I really don't like the look of Optimus there is just something that doesn't look right. However Bumblebee looks bad ass as hell, I did love him when he was a Camaro but this looks better.

"The Hangover Part III" red band trailer

I didn't want to post this, but there is a lot of you fans out there. So here it is a new red band trailer for "The Hangover Part III". I never thought there would be two Hangover films never mind three, but I guess money talks. The second film fell way short of the impact the first one had, but they are promising that the third will give us an unforgettable conclusion to the franchise.

Josh Duhamel in Transformers 4?

Michael Bay said a few weeks back that he was rebooting the whole human cast in his next Transformers film, however last week Josh Duhamel revealed that Michael Bay wants Duhamels character William Lennox to appear somehow.

"[Michael Bay] said he wants to put me in it someplace,"

"I don’t know if he was just saying that because he had me on the phone and he felt obligated or what, but you know what? I got to do three of those. It changed my career, it changed my life getting to be a part of something that big, so I’m grateful for even doing the first three of them."

"Sinister 2" update

"Sinister" was made on a pretty small budget and went on to make about £90 Million in the Box Office, so i was kind of unsurprising when it was announced there would a be a sequel. Last month Director, Scott Derrickson who works on a good few Horrors spoke out about the sequel;

Deadline are reporting that Blumhouse Productions are officially moving forward with the project with Scott Derrickson and Christopher Robert Cargill are returning to co-write the story. With everything still in the very earliest of stages it's likely that a new Director will be brought in with Derrickson staying on the Produce.

"Transformers 4" update

Looks like "Transformers 4" has its teenage lead an that is upcoming American-Irish actor Jack Reynor, you're probably a lot like me in thinking who on earth is Jack Reynor? He doesn't really have a filmography you will have seen is my guess, but he is in upcoming film "What Richard Did" so we can all check out his acting ability in that, not that being cast in a Transformers film means you can act anyway.

"I just hired a great new actor for Transformers 4 to star against Mark Wahlberg. Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket. Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie WHAT RICHARD DID. This kid is the real deal.

Transformers 4, is not a reboot. That word has been floating around on the net.
This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different then the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.

I do see that MB used the sentence "We are embarking on a new trilogy." this could be his way of dropping a hint about 3 more films about sheer nothing-ness but he is more than likely just saying that this film is set to leave its own mark on the movie world. 

"Transformers 4" in China?

Yeah that is the correct title, that's the big rumour circulating around of recent. The whole production of "Transformers 4" might take place in China for a number of reasons, the main one being cracking the Chinese market.

"Paramount wants the next Transformers movie to be either partially or fully shot in China, using famous Chinese landmarks as set-piece locations.
Why?  Because China is the fastest rising box office performer never before seen in an international market.  China is now only second behind Japan in the number of people who go and buy tickets for American blockbusters.  Fairly soon China is projected to surpass Japan as the number one foreign market in the world.
The problem is: the Chinese government is very picky when it comes to which American films get a theatrical release in their country.  Anything content-wise that comes close to disparaging China or conflicts with state values, the film will immediately be barred from Chinese theatres."

Todd Phillips shares "Hangover 3" pictures

I'm not even going to go into what I think about this movie, I will just say NO! With the pictures there was a small synopsis released;
"This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off."

"Transformers 4" looking for a female lead?

Michael Bay is probably putting the finishing touches to his upcoming film "Pain & Gain" ready for its release next year, I recently learnt some information on the upcoming Transformers film. A new rumour is circulating that the next film is set to have a female lead in the place of Shia LaBeouf's Sam Witwicky.

"Spoiler TV said that’s not the case because TRANSFORMERS 4 is looking for an actress to play a female protagonist who’s a high school senior and also an actor to play her Texan race car drivin’ boyfriend."

We all know that Bay likes to have some "eye candy" in his films in the form of attractive co-stars, but now it looks like he is upping his game and giving the lead role to a female. I kind of like the idea of giving the lead to a female, it's different and different is what we need in Hollywood right now. The major concern is how high of a priority is acting on the list of what the actress needs, his past two female co-stars have been more chosen on their looks over their acting ability. I'm hope he aims for both looks and acting ability, can somebody say Emma Watson? Ha ha

Look I'm not even going to talk about this film, because I will get wound up an end up going on a rant so here is the trailer for the fourth instalment in the Paranormal Activity franchise.

Liam Neeson, why "Taken 2"?

When I heard there was going to be a "Taken" sequel my jaw nearly snapped in disbelief, I mean why, why on earth would they make another. How do they do it? Does the daughter get kidnapped again? Does his wife get kidnapped? I jokingly said to a friend imagine if the kidnapped his wife in revenge, boy I hit the nail on the head there. Well looks like I wasn't the only one who didn't understand the idea of a sequel, the star of the first Liam Neeson also felt the same way;
"The first one for me was just a one-off. It was a huge hit, but I thought ‘That’s it.’ Then Luc Besson came back and said, ‘We want to do a sequel.’ I said, ‘Come on, how can you possibly do a sequel? What, she gets taken again? It’s crazy!’”
The trick the producers have pulled to get around this problem is simple: have Bryan Mills (and his wife, Lenore, as played by Famke Janssen) be the ones who are taken, with his daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace), the only one on the outside who can help.
“I’m able to, in a very covert way, instruct her to find out where I am being held because a sack’s been put over my head and I’m in the middle of a fucking dungeon!” explains Neeson. “It’s highly impossible yet equally possible."
I mean don't get me wrong the film will more than likely be a huge hit, I for one will not be rushing out to see it. From what Neeson was quoted as saying it really doesn't even seem he knows what the heck is going on with this film. Also we have a theatrical trailer for the film which you can see below.

Ken Jeong signs for a bigger role

Ken Jeong has signed on for a bigger role in the upcoming Comedy "The Hangover Part III", he will have a major part in the film according to director Todd Phillips.

"Sources say Mr. Chow will play a larger role in the third installment, though Warners is keeping the plot under wraps. Jeong is working out dates to avoid conflicts with his NBC/Sony series Community. The show begins shooting in August and overlaps slightly with Hangover III's planned fall shoot."

He will be re-teaming up with Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifinakis for the May, 2013 release. 

Michael Bay talks "Transformers 4"

Michael Bay has took some time before "Transformers 4" goes into production to try out the Transformers The Ride 3D in Universal Studios Hollywood. He also leaked some details towards his approach for the next film with prospects of space travel for our favourite robots in disguise.

"It’s not a reboot, that’s maybe the wrong word. I don’t want to say reboot because then people will think we’re doing a Spider-Man and starting from the beginning. We’re not. We’re taking the story that you’ve seen — the story we’ve told in three movies already — and we’re taking it in a new direction. But we’re leaving those three as the history. It all still counts. I met with the writer before I went off to do ‘Pain and Gain’ and we talked about a bunch of ideas. We let that simmer for a bit. He’s been thinking about stuff and now we’re getting back together next week to see what we’ve got and to see if it gels… So does that mean Optimus Prime and the crew will be leaving Sam behind on Earth and venturing out into space? I think so, yeah, a little. That feels like the way to go, doesn’t it? I want to go a little off but I don’t want to go too sci-fi. I still want to keep it grounded. That’s what works in these movies, that’s what makes it accessible. Bay said the movie would have to be made for about $30 million less than Dark of the Moon (which Box Office Mojo has budgeted at $195 million so don’t expect it to be small) and that it would, once again, be his last: Here’s the thing, it’s tough to find someone who’s done these kind of movies and to have the complication of creating the new stuff that needs to be in this movie – not just characters but a new type of action, I hope – and that’s a lot for someone new to bite off. And so after this one I will leave it in the best hands possible. That’s the plan."

Today we are "blessed" with "Taken 2" trailer, below is the trailer for what I will describe as a really unwanted sequel in my eyes.

"I Am Legend 2" news

I've completely lost interest in this proposed film, it just doesn't make any sense chronologically or even cinematically it's just a money making scheme by the studios. Plus I don't really see Will Smith as a sequel kind of person (Men In Black an Bad Boys aside), I see him more of stand alone film guy.

"Speaking to Radio 1′s Chris Moyles, the 43-year-old actor revealed producers are working on I Am Legend II but that he was unlikely to take part.
When asked if he would be involved, Smith said: “Probably not. Producers are working on it. I’m not actually working on it. If it’s great, I’m into it. I don’t want to be the sequel guy. I figure I’ve got about six or seven more years where I can run and jump a little bit and then I’m going butt and gut for the rest of my career. Butt and gut.”"

Well is seems like Smith kind of agrees with me, I'd like to see him do more comedic roles I loved "Hitch" and who doesn't love "Fresh Prince Of Bel Air". He doesn't need to make "I Am Legend 2" or "Men In Black 4", he should leave them behind him an move on, how about a "Fresh Prince" feature to see what actually happens in Will's life I'd like to see it. 

Michael Bay WILL direct "Transformers 4"

As I posted back in December of last year Michael Bay is returning, I am reluctantly posting this, it's not new "news" if you follow your film news but here it is anyway. Michael Bay WILL be doing the next instalment in the "Transformers" franchise, the film is said the be a "reboot". Yeah, you read that correctly a fourth film in a 4 year old franchise is going to be the reboot, what is Bay thinking? Money really does talk now-a-days. In a recent interview "Transformers" regular Josh Duhamel who played the special operatives captain William Lennox;
"I don't think anybody's doing it. I know Shia's not doing it. I don't think Tyrese or Rosie or anybody else is doing it. Whenever these movies make that much money they're going to make as many as they can. I haven't heard anything about it."
So looks like Bay will be looking for a completely new cast lets hope they keep some original voice cast the likes of Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) and Mark Ryan (Bumblebee).
