Spawn fancast

So I have been thinking lately of the films I would love to see rebooted considering that Hollywood have ran out ideas and they feel the need to reboot, re-imagine or just rob ideas. That does sound a little bit bitter I know, however I do love reboots or re-imagines myself I loved  "Star Trek", "Man Of Steel" and "Ocean's Eleven" come to mind. Anyway, back to the matter at hand, I was a huge fan of the 1997 Spawn release who wouldn't love a mercenary agent who dies, gets sent to hell and makes a deal with the devil to come back. So I decided to do myself a little fancast of who I would have in the film if it were to be remade right now.

Spawn - Idris Elba
It was really a toss up between Elba and Terry Crews however I just thought that Elba has the acting ability that Crews didn't have.

Cogliostro - Donald Sutherland
Cogliostro is a homeless dude who turns out to be a fellow Hellspawn who has previously forsaken his roots.

Violator/The Clown - Wayne Knight
The Clown and voice of Violator.

The Freak - Bill Moseley

Jason Wynn - Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Jessica Priest - Kristen Stewart

Twitch Williams - Kevin Corrigan

Angela - Scarlett Johansson

Wanda - Gabrielle Union
Al Simmons wife before he died.

Terry Fitzgerald - Gary Dourdan
Al Simmons best friend and now current husband to his ex-wife.

James Marsters - The Curse

"Thor: The Dark World" trailer is here!

Crazy to think this is only the fourth film that director Alan Taylor has done, he has done a lot of television and the transition couldn't have been that easy. However, everything I take from the trailer makes that transition look pretty good for him. Plus we get a lot Idris Elba, which you can't go wrong with. The film has more of Fantasy/Science Fiction feel than the last one, plus it looks a whole lot better than the first. I still don't like the forced relationship between Thor and Jane Foster (Portman) it just doesn't seem to make any sense at all. All in all this film looks a lot better than I expected.

"Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom" poster

A new poster has been released for "Mandela Long Walk To Freedom", is it just me does Elba not look like he should be playing Mandela? He seems far too big in my opinion.

"Pacific Rim" trailer

It's finally here, Warner Bros have blessed us with the main trailer for "Pacific Rim" which releases this Summer. The film is veiled in a sense of mystery, but now we have a much clearer look of what to expect. If you want the film to be that bit extra mysterious then don't watch the trailer, but I assure you that you really are missing out.

"Pacific Rim" 6 new pictures

Super Bowl Sunday didn't just bring us some beautiful trailers it also brought us some new pictures from the incredible looking "Pacific Rim". Not many people I know have even heard of this film which is silly, the film has a $200 Million budget and stars Charlie Hunnam & Idris Elba EVERYBODY should know about this film! I have a great feeling about this film, it will be like a modern day Science Fictrion version of Godzilla.

Let's talk Justice League

You all know that back in June, Warner Bros announced that they were bringing Justice League to this big screen. According to some reports, screenwriter Will Beall has been hired to write the screenplay,if you aren't familiar with his work. He has worked on the TV Show "Castle" as a write plus he wrote the screenplay for "Gangster Squad" plus rumours are suggesting he has been hired to reboot/remake "Lethal Weapon" and "Logan's Run".

Both Nolan and Snyder have said in the past that their films are stand alone projects, in a way restricted to their own universe. But, that doesn't mean that another director won't go back and recast actors who have previously played roles.

Batman

Sam Witwer, don't know what it is but for a few years now since I seen him in "Smallville" I've thought Witwer would be perfect for the role of Batman. I've thought about a new Batman since the second I heard Christian Bale's stupid fucking voice in "Batman Begins". Since I started doing this piece I kept looking back at Joe Manganiello as a possible Batman but I put him down as a possible Superman in all seriousness I would be happy if he were cast as either but for now my first choice is Sam Witwer.

Superman

Seen as Henry Cavill is already Superman, I guess recasting Cavill as Superman for "The Justice League". Lets say though that the studio wanted to go a different route an make the film a complete stand alone no previous affiliations to Nolan's Trilogy or Snyder's "Man Of Steel", if that were to happen my first choice would be Joe Manganiello the BIG guy from "True Blood" (the dude on the right).

Green Lantern

Without any hesitation do I go straight to Nathan Fillion as my Green Lantern, he already voiced Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) in "Green Lantern: Emerald Knight" & "Justice League: Doom". Plus with this being a stand alone film Fillion is able to play Hal Jordan, he can't do a worse job than Ryan Reynolds did in 2011.

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman, now this is a actress I mulled over for nearly an hour I just couldn't pin point a single actress I'd personally hire. Doing a bit of research I seen names like Megan Fox, Charlize Theron and Sienna Miller thrown about for me none of them make the cut. Then I remembered watching "Haywire" a few months ago, while the film was pretty bad I remember watching Gina Carano and thinking this woman is bad ass who is she. Turns out she used to be an MMA fighter/kick boxer before she became an actress an we all know Wonder Woman loved to kick ass.

Flash

This is another decision that took a while, but eventually settled on Justin Timberlake from he is a funny guy and a decent actor plus he has the build an actor would need to play Flash. Other actors I was considering were Joel McHale & Ryan Gosling.

Martian Manhunter

Ah, Martian Manhunter the forgotten member when the conversation of Justice League comes up people forget about him. In my opinion he is probably the best aside from Superman & Batman for obvious sentimental reasons ha. A lot Martian Manhunter would be CGI due to the fact he shape shifts a lot, so it would take a good actor to potray him during the none shifting scenes that why I settled on the incredibly talented Idris Elba.

An that's my select 6 actors and characters a lot of other people talk about possible use of Aquaman, Hawkman, Captain Marvel, Green Arrow & Black Canary. All great hero's in their own right, but these are my 6 but for the sake of it, here would be my choice for the other members that could be used an will definitely considered.

Green Arrow & Black Canary

Another decision that took no hesitation, have you guys seen "Arrow" on CW (USA) Sky1 (UK) its easily one of the best shows on right now an they dynamic these two have is incredible.

Hawkman & Captain Marvel

I chose Channing Tatum purely on how he looks, I realise how that sounds but he looks just like what I imagine Hawkman in real life would look. Plus, check out Patrick Warburton it's like Captain Marvel was based on him ha ha.

Aquaman

I'm gonna go with Jensen Ackles, not just because I'm a huge "Supernatural" fan but I also think he has that pretty boy look that Aquaman needs but he still has his rugged side too.

I'd love to know what you think of my selections, plus let me know of any possible story archs you think they could take when they make the film. I never really read Justice League growing up so I know very little about the stories they undertook, plus I'd like to know who you guys would pick for your Justice League movies.

"Thor 2: The Dark World" spoiler???

WARNING these may be spoilers for the film, read at your own risk. In all realness though, they could just be a huge rumour an amount to nothing.

Well looks like somebody has dropped the ball on the next instalment in the "Thor" movie franchise, a rumour/spoiler has made it's way online that the villains in the next movie are set to be Dark Elves. There has been much speculation on whether or not Thor would visit space due to the goings on in "The Avengers". Well, insight into this speculation was fuelled even more so when reportedly, a stuntman working on the film revealed he had been asked to act like an elf.
"The other day I was working on ‘Thor 2,’” he explained. “I had a load of stunt guys in and the director Alan Taylor) came in and he said ‘Look, we want you all to be elves,’ and I was like ‘What the hell is an elf anyway?’ And he said ‘I want you all to walk around like these supernatural animals.’"
Growing up I never read the Thor comics, so I wasn't at all familiar with this character or story arc. According to many of the fan pages out there, they are speculating that if this was the premise of the new film then the villains could be Dark Elves whom are on Thor's arch-nemesis list.

Trailer and poster for "Alex Cross"

I've seen "Kiss The Girls" and "Along Came A Spider" many times, an when I heard Idris Elba was set to be playing Alex Cross the character made famous by the great Morgan Freeman. I was extremely excited, then I found out he had been replaced by Tyler Perry, Tyler freaking Perry I mean who on earth even is this man? I thought he wrote musicals or something, so after hearing that I gave up on the proposed project. Now we have a poster and a trailer for the film, an I'm going to be honest I am kind of looking forward to it.

Guillermo Del Toro finally talks "Pacific Rim"

Guillermo Del Toro has had a rough time over the past few years, he was set to direct the two upcoming Hobbit films but had to leave due to the lack of traction of the production due to the financial concerns with New Line. The messed up thing is that shortly after the film went into production without him but with Peter Jackson in the directors chair. He's popped up here and there talking about speaking on his work with bringing the Hulk back to TV. Today, we finally got some news on a new film from him "Pacific Rim".

"Del Toro: So much of the creation of the movie was having the best creative experience I’ve ever had in Hollywood.
Total Film: What sort of scale are you working on?
Del Toro: When we’re talking about the physicality of the fight, we ended up building several blocks of Hong Kong. And literally demolished them. We built a building and then we took down the buildings. We built command centres of the robots that were the size of the house. We started them on hydraulic rigs that shoot and elevated them and moved them round so you could really get a sense of the physical nature driving a robot like this.
Total Film: How did Charlie Hunnam get cast?
Del Toro: The funny thing is Charlie was one of my only two choices for the prince of Hellboy II: The Golden Army. I met with him. He screen tested. I loved Charlie before Sons Of Anarchy. He always brought a certain honesty. He’s the kind of guy that women will love who guys won’t hate. He’s the right side of honest and good looking that you don’t want to punch him in the face. You want to have a pint with the guy. You want to take him to the pub. There’s male bonding energy with this guy that I thought was perfect for the character."

Somebody must be twisting Guillermo's arm while I was writing this, I also found this first picture of Idris Elba in some sort of armoured suit from the new film. That's a pretty interesting suit that he's wearing, it kind of reminds me of some sort of anime related look. It looks like Guillermo is taking a leaf out of Ridley Scott's book an starting the hype very, very early, good on you Guillermo!

"Prometheus" International trailer

WOW! Just WOW!. Fox recently released an International trailer for "Prometheus". I'm not gonna sugar coat my feeling towards the film, I think this will be the film of the year (slight possibility "The Avengers" could trump it). But, you can't go wrong with Ridley Scott in my opinion, the man is a film making genius; Alien, Blade Runner, Hannibal, and American Gangster to name a few. Words fail me for what to say about this film, if you can thing of anything drop a comment below.
