"Star Trek Into Darkness" posters

So we have two new posters for J.J. Abrams upcoming instalment in the Star Trek franchise "Star Trek Into Darkness". Firstly we have a "cinemosaic" poster, first one I have ever seen an it is safe to say I like them a lot. The second poster is of the Enterprise going down, and going down hard it is.

"Star Trek Into Darkness" pictures courtesy of Empire

Empire magazine have done it again, they have released some beautiful pictures for the upcoming instalment in the Star Trek franchise. They are having a special fold-out cover for their next issue featuring J.J. Abrams and the cast of "Star Trek Into Darkness" plus they have given us two new stills from the film plus some little tech savvy genius' have discovered a new picture using the Star Trek app. Scanning the magazine cover unlocks a third still with a bit of Starfleet machinery simply designated MC-9321.

What is MC-9321 you may ask? I haven't got a clue, but if I had to guess (bare in mind I have no previous knowledge of the Star Trek universe) I would have to go with an unmanned craft of some sort. If you have any ideas of what it could be, let us know in the comments section. I would love to hear what you think.

New International trailer for "Star Trek Into Darknes"

So here it is, my first post using my beautiful new laptop ha. I realise that I haven't posted on here in nearly a week, but we are back and using better equipment. Anyway, back to why we're here, let's check out the new trailer for "Star Trek Into Darkness".
"When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew."

"Star Trek Into Darkness" poster

Here is the first official teaser poster for the upcoming Star Trek movie "Star Trek Into Darkness", the general reaction is "haven't they copied The Dark Knight?" An if I'm being 100% honest I can see why they are asking that, it does have a Nolan-esque feel about it.
I personally don't like the poster, it doesn't shout "Star Trek" when I see it. But that doesn't take away from how excited I am for this movie, growing up I didn't really like the Star Trek franchise but it was always on television due to my Dad's obsession ha ha. So earlier this year I watched "Star Trek" from 2009 an the film was incredible, if you haven't seen it I highly recommend you do then go see this one next May when it hits the big screen.

"Star Trek Into Darkness" synopsis?

I've been a posting a bit about this film, but it is a bit disappointing how little we actually know about this film. We know that all the cast is returning with the addition of Benedict Cumberbatch as the villain other than that, what do we actually know? A HUGE thanks to whoever decided to leak this synopsis;

"In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness. When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

Action packed? Not something I would personally relate to a Star Trek film, they are more for the thinking movie fan than they are for the movie fan who wants to switch their brain off and relax. I'm not implying that the film is doomed before it's release, but it is a very strange phrase used to describe the movie.

Is that a Kilngon?

J.J. Abrams the genius mind behind "Lost", "Fringe" and "Cloverfield" to name but a few, decided to reboot the nearly 50 year old franchise of "Star Trek". Creating his own Star Trek brand without any continuity to previous films or TV shows. When I heard that the Klingons were not to be in his first film (2009) I was shocked growing up with me Dad constantly watching the previous shows the Klingon race seemed a huge part of the show, when I found out he was doing a sequel I thought he had to include them. Maybe I was right? Clearly looking at the monitor in the background of this still from a recent interview it looks like he it going to include the freaky looking race after all.

Seems like some sneaky little yoohoo found a deleted scene from the 2009 film that seem to show Klingon and they appeared to be outfitted in the same way as the dude/dudette on the monitor.

"Star Trek 2" first set photo's

Hard to believe we're only just getting set photo's from "Star Trek 2" it was nearly two months ago that I blogged saying the film was going into production. Better late than never I guess, the shots seem to show Zoe Saldana wielding some sort of ray-gun and we see Spock doing the famous "Vulcan Grip". There is also a video on YouTube showing the fight scene being filmed in front of the green screen, scroll down past the pictures to check it out.
