Robert Downey Jr talks Iron Man retirement???

It has been widely reported that Robert Downey Jr.'s contract with Marvel is set to expire this summer after "Iron Man 3". I will be blunt with you guys I'm not really the biggest fan of Robert Downey and never have been, but losing him as Iron Man is bit upsetting. Lets just hope that the studio offer him a new contract for more "Iron Man" and "Avengers" films. In a recent interview with GQ he seems to be hinting at he may be done with the character, when asked about the injury he sustained on the set of the latest film;

"It got me thinking about how big the message from your cosmic sponsor needs to be before you pick it up. How many genre movies can I do? How many follow-ups to a successful follow-up are actually fun? Because, as quiet as it's kept, I come from a family of very innovative writers and directors and actors and artists, and the circle of friends they were in were the people I heard having pun-offs playing poker at two in the morning, and it was just the most comforting aspect of my childhood. So there's this kind of legacy of souls from what I consider to be a very particular time in entertainment, and I'm sensing a return to that—it's what me and the missus are doing next. It's not unlike: I heard Brady signed on for three more years with New England, and then he's done being a QB, because he'll be 40. I'm 47, and I'll be 50."

When asked to elaborate on what he meant about what stops when he turns 50;

"I don't know. I don't know. Right now I don't have a contract to do anything, and I did for the last five years."

It's unclear if Downey truly is finished with playing the character or if he's playing coy in an attempt to get a boost in his next contract. Check back here for future updates on the matter.

Kevin Feige talks Pepper Potts in "Iron Man 3"

I for one haven't had any interest in "Iron Man 3" up until this point, I wasn't the biggest fan of the first two but I love Marvel so I've seen them. It would be stupid to say the film wouldn't be as good without the addition of Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts.
Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige has been speaking about how important the character is to the film;

"The love triangle in this movie is really between Tony, Pepper and the suits. Tony, Pepper and his obsession with those suits, and the obsession with technology. And, it’s sort of unique for a big superhero summer blockbuster franchise to have that kind of layers.

"Yes, there’s a bad guy. Yes, the stakes are very, very high--the President of the United States is in danger. Air Force One is attacked. There are big stakes to this movie. But the real stakes are, is Tony going to be able to set aside the obsession to spend all day, every day in that workshop, tinkering with the suits in order to focus on, as he says in the trailer, the one thing that matters most - Pepper. And that actually is what the entire movie’s about."

The rumour of Pepper Potts wearing her own suit in the films has been around for as long as the films have been out, even though Feige doesn't confirm the rumour he certainly does add credence to the rumour;

"I will tell you this. In this movie [Iron Man 3] we play with the convention of the damsel in distress. We are bored by the damsel in distress. But, sometimes we need our hero to be desperate enough in fighting for something other than just his own life. So, there is fun to be had with "Is Pepper in danger or is Pepper the savior?" over the course of this movie.

"In terms of where we go with future movies, we’ll see. In the comic books she does get a taste for the suit and becomes her own hero named Rescue, who doesn’t necessarily battle other people, but is on missions to help people and to save people. Will we do that down the line with Gwyneth Paltrow? Who knows. But her being in the suit is something we have been playing with since Iron Man 2, where we did some designs and it didn’t end up fitting in that movie. But the little taste you saw here [in an Iron Man 3 clip] is something that we’re certainly interested in."

It's not just me is it? That does sound like we might be seeing Rescue in this film? Or at least some point in one of the upcoming films.

New character posters for "Iron Man 3"

"Iron Man 3" War Machine poster

This is such a bad ass poster, I like this poster a lot it has actually sparked a little of my interest in "Iron Man 3". Don Cheadle looks right at home in his armour, will we see a War Machine stand alone film one day?

"Iron Man 3" spoilers?

***SPOILER ALERT***

If you don't want to see the possible spoilers DO NOT scroll down.

You guys/girls might remember a post I done about "Amazing Spider-Man" in which I talked about Lego accidentally releasing scenes from the film in Lego format. Seems like they have gone an done the exact same thing with "Iron Man 3", which is pretty exciting for people looking forward to the film. I am not confirming these are depictions of scenes from the film, but they very well could be.

"Iron Man 3" poster

A lot of people are using the word ominous to describe this poster, but this is Tony Stark he probably decided to blow himself up for the fun of it. Nah, but in all seriousness I do agree with it, there is something really bad happening just before the picture was taken in film. If you check out the suit in the poster it looks different to any I recognise from the past 2 films, so Stark will be rocking a new suit? We already know that there will be a deep space suit rumour, an this suit has a lot of gold on it which is used on space shuttles because it is a great reflector.

Robert Downey talks Don Cheadle in "Iron Man 3"

In a recent interview Robert Downey Jr was asked about the involvement of War Machine in the upcoming film. Surprisingly Downey had a huge insight into his involvement.

"Rhodey is much more in the dead center of things. He’s much more dynamic. We’ve made this decision that while Tony is a technical guy, he’s not really a trained guy. There’s a lot of fun to be had with Don because he’s really good with hardware and he’s a martial artist, so it’s been really fun exploiting this possibility of Tony having moments like the one in AVENGERS, like the one with Cap where he decides, ‘Oh screw it, he probably knows what he’s doing.’ So there’s a lot of that and a lot more fun and a lot more depth to Rhodey this time around."

Downey also went on to talk about a scene in the upcoming film, this scene sounds incredible. Stark is gonna kick some ass!

"We’ve just been talking about one sequence – the top-secret name is the Boot/Glove Sequence, I can tell you that, just between you and me – it’s where Tony only has one gauntlet and one boot and he has to escape multiple captors. It’s really fun, dude. We’re taking everything from his first gauntlet test in the first movie up through the most extreme stuff we thought up for Iron Man 2 and The Avengers and pulling on all of it and making this one big, extended challenge of physics."

"Iron Man 3" official picture

There has been so much hype around the next instalment in the Iron Man franchise since "The Avengers" was released. We now have a first set picture which shows off Tony Stark's armoury. In "The Avengers" Stark is wearing the Mark VII armour an from this picture there doesn't seem to be any new addictions. From a previous post we know that Iron Patriot is going to used within the film, an we still have no idea how this will tie in to the story.

"Iron Man 3" set photos

I know very little about Iron Man from the comics, he never really interested me he is just another version of Batman in my opinion (different universes/comics I know). Even though I know very little about about Iron Man I still enjoy the films an did enjoy "The Avengers". There is a lot of excitement on the Internet about these pictures, they seem to show James Badge Dale wearing Iron Patriot suit. In case you don't know who/what Iron Patriot is, I done a little research here is a background of him/it;
Turns out that Iron Patriot is Norman Osborn (Green Goblin) who we all know was Spider-Man's main villain in the Sam Raimi film. Iron Patriot is from an alternative Universe (Earth-616) within the Marvel Comics, an he seems to be evil. I really can't seem to find out much about him, if anybody has insight to the character please let me know in the comments.
