MCU rumours Spidey, Doctor Strange, Civil War & Ant-Man

There has been several rumours that have surfaced over the past week or so relating to the future of Marvel Cinematic Universe films, they can be perceived as VERY spoiler heavy, the details came from the guys over at JobLo. DO NOT continue to read if you do not want to hear about these POSSIBLE spoilers for the upcoming films.

***!!!SPOILERS AHEAD!!!***

Firstly, lets get to the rumour about Ant-Man, details have emerged that there will be two fights between Ant-Man and Yellowjacket. First of all they will be inside a suitcase that is falling to Earth from a helicopter, while inside the suitcase they will be dodging various objects within the suitcase on will be a mobile phone. The second fight which will be the final fight of the film will take place in Scott Lang's daughters bedroom, in the fight the hero and villain will show case their abilities to shrink and grow, also in the fight an ant and Thomas the Tank Engine with be enlarged to giant-sized proportions.

Secondly, we take a look at the details that have surfaced about Captain America: Civil War, the third instalment in the Captain America films within the MCU. According to the report, the film is simply being called "Civil War" in house, meaning the higher ups at Marvel see this as more of an Avenger 2.5 if you will and not necessarily a Captain America film, which is a good thing in my opinion. The film will feature an A star list of heroes, with names likes of War Machine, The Vision, and Ant-Man being reportedly involved with Iron Man's side of the conflict, while on the other hand Black Widow, Hawkeye and Falcon siding with Cap. Scarlet Witch is also said to be appearing in the film, whose side she will be on is currently unknown, along with her appearance, Black Panther is set to appear in the film and will NOT be used to fill Spider-Man's role open from the comics unlike most reports have suggested. Black Panther will appear, serving his own purpose, what that is we do not know as of yet. As for an appearance from your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, his involvement or lack of involvement is being kept very hush hush, so he my well appear, however in my personal opinion, I do not think he will appear. He may be referenced in name, but his first appearance will be his solo film in 2017.

In regards to villains in the film, Baran Zemo will be making an appearance (likely being played by Daniel Bruhl) along with Zemo, Brock Rumlow played by Frank Grillo will be making the step from Brock to his Crossbones persona. Which will include a modified version of his skull mask that is said to more like a mask/helmet hybrid with skull graffiti on it. The rumours also state that Crossbones is responsible for causing the massacre that leads to the Superhero Registration Act which sparks the conflict amongst the Avengers. This is not the only reported factor in causing a rift between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, partial lies with Winter Soldier and Steve's relationship with him, who will also appear in this film.

Within the report we also found out that The Falcon played by Anthony Mackie will be rocking a modified costume, that will have a red and grey colour scheme similar to his look in comics. Hopefully somewhat like the picture above, Ant-Man is set to look exactly the same, but is expected to show his ability to go "giant-man mode" at some point.

Thirdly, the reports gives us some information on the upcoming Doctor Strange film starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role. The report says that Strange's physical look will be directly inspired by his comic appearance, including his red cape (for people unaware with his look picture below).

The suit will obviously take on some modification as to fit into this MCU world we already have established, with a shorter collar and some sort of vest piece. Villains in the film will be Dormammu and Baron Mordo, it is being said that Dormammu will be leading an army of "Mindless Ones" with lots of action taking place in-between dimensions and in the Astral Plane, the visual effects aim to be comparable to Inception.

If even HALF of this comes to be true, I will be incredibly happy, some of the ideas coming out in this report are amazing. Will add a great dimension (pun intended) to the MCU, great time to be a comic book fan

Drew Goddard to direct "Sinister Six"

Back when Sony announced that they were planning two new spin-offs "Venom" and "Sinister Six", they announced Drew Goddard would be writing the screenplay for the latter. During the announcement it was hotly rumoured that Goddard would also be directing the film, today these rumours came true.

Marc Webb reveals B.J Novaks "Amazing Spider-Man 2" character!

With MUCH speculation surrounding the role of B J Novak in the upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", director himself Marc Webb has revealed on Twitter that Novak will be playing none other that Alistair Smythe in the sequel. Check out his bio on Wiki if you don't know who he is, his family have a HUGE part in the Spidey world.

Sony Pictures announce Venom and Sinister Six spin-off!!!

I have been waiting for a Venom film for as long as I have been a Spider-Man fan, and that is a pretty long time!

In a move today that is said "to forge a new legacy in the story of Peter Parker on screen", Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that they will in association with Marvel being developing several new films within the Spider-Man franchise. These are sat to be being penned by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon and Drew Goddard with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach set to produce.

The five writers along with Webb and two producers have been kicking ass in forming their new Spidey related universe. This new deal with see Kurtzman, Orci and Pinkner are set to write the screenplay for the third instalment in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise in which they hope Webb will return to direct. That film is set to release in 2016 with the release of this film they are set to expand the universe even more so with Orci, Solomon and Kurtzman writing the screenplay for "Venom" which Kurtzman himself will direct.

The next step in their franchise is to have Goddard write and direct "The Sinister Six" movie, which will focus on the biggest and baddest villains in the Spidey-verse.

Commenting on the announcement, Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures said;
"The Spider-Man film franchise is one of our studio's greatest assets. We are thrilled with the creative team we have assembled to delve more deeply into the world that Marc, Avi and Matt have begun to explore in 'The Amazing Spider-Man' and 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2.' We believe that Marc, Alex, and Drew have uniquely exciting visions for how to expand the Spider-Man universe in each of these upcoming films."

B.J Novak offers a hint on his "Amazing Spider-Man 2" character

A few months ago Marc Webb confirmed that "The Office" favourite B.J. Novak joined the cast of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2". However, there was no specific details on the character he would be playing. It seems now in a recent interview with The Huffington Post, Novak offered a few words on his character;

"I'm in a couple of scenes. Yeah, I was never told whether or not I could say. I can say that I work at Oscorp. And I am someone from the comic books, someone from the original. So, yeah, I'm somebody. I wouldn't say I'm pivotal, but I'm not an extra, either."

I personally think that Novak may be playing one of the Smythes, they are both (father and son) known for robotics. They could incorporate the Rhino suit into them building or working on it.

Today Sony Pictures gave us the trailer for their upcoming Spider-Man film "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", which has MANY Easter Eggs and teasers! Check out the trailer below, then after that check the breakdown video below that.

Just a heads up, pause the Official Trailer at 2:08 do them clothes look familiar? If you ask me, they look A LOT like the clothes Gwen dies in within the comic.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" gets a title change...

Well in Brazil that is, there are reports suggesting that in Brazil the movie will now be title "The Amazing Spider-Man: Rise Of Electro". It has been reported that Sony were looking at adding a subtitle to the movie, looks like they have for their Brazilian market.

Some people might not know this but movies across the world sometimes have different titles for different markets, i.e "Die Hard: Live Free or Die Hard" in the US which over here in the UK is called "Die Hard 4.0".

Does anybody else think that the word "rise" is kind of played out in movies these days? Especially considering that we more than likely will not see Electro in any more films within this franchise, they could have gone with much cooler title like "The Amazing Spider-Man: Enter Electro" in homage to the PS1 game.

Paul Giamatti talks Rhino

Pictures of Paul Giamatti on the set and in his Pre-CG suit, have surfaced online in the recent weeks, to give us an idea of what the character could potentially look like on the big screen. However, it's quite different from how the character looked in the original comics.

"In the comic books of old, he had this suit on that made him look like a rhinoceros, and it made him super strong," he said in an interview with The Toronto Sun. "If there was a bank vault he would just run right through it. Butt through it with his head. And he was not very smart."

Giamatti goes on to tease that his suit in the film will be slightly updated. "And I have a particular kind of suit, but I don't think I'm supposed to talk about it. He's a Russian mobster. Russians are always good villains. I have an ability to just destroy things. My accent is pretty hammy. I loved doing it. it seemed to me like an opportunity to be as over-the-top hammy as possible. It was really fun."

He went on to tease that he plays "One of several bad guys in the movie."

Here we have another little gem brought to us from Comic-Con, this time around we have a trailer for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2". I really didn't enjoy the first one at all, this one looks pretty bad ass but they still do have to many villains.

Stan Lee films his "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" cameo

We know that WE ALL love our Stan Lee cameos in Marvel films, my personal favourite is either Hugh Hefner or not Larry King from the Iron Man films they were hilarious. I am extremely looking forward to his cameo in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", below we have a few pictures of him filming his scene. Don't worry there are no spoilers included in these pictures. Paul Giamatti as... RHINO!!!

We finally get to see Paul Giamatti as The Rhino, Giamatti plays Aleksei Mikhailovich Sytsevich aka The Rhino in the sequel and it appears they're making some changes from his appearance in the comic books.

Spideys new costume is pretty sweet

Spideys new costume is pretty good, was expecting it to be good after we seen Marc Webb tease with the big eyes. Now we get a good look at what the costume looks like, I will say one thing though an after I say it you will not be able to look anywhere else. But holy heck look at that cup!

Looks like Spidey is off to Ravencroft

What is Ravencroft you might ask, well to put it simple it is Marvels version of the Arkham Asylum. A big bad super prison that houses the criminally insane, does this mean we get to see Rhino break out of a maximum security prison? That, I would love to see.

I wrote off the first "The Amazing Spider-Man" before it even came out, an it is safe to say I was right to in my own opinion. However as the weeks go on an we find out little snippets of information about the second instalment and the teasers that Marc Webb is giving us. I'm finding myself drawn more and more towards this film, maybe it is the Marvel lover inside of me, but the film has got my Spidey senses tingling.

Emma Stone praises...

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" script, hopefully we will get to see some pictures of her soon on set.

"I'm in it, Andrew is in it, they just cast Dane Dehaan as Harry Osborn who is such a great actor. And Shailene Woodleyas Mary Jane, who's also wonderful. So there's all that and the script is very, very good. I'm very much looking forward to it.

"I'm very happy that our first one was received so well, it'll be cool in the next one to see how Gwen and Peter bridge that distance that was between us at the end of it. I think the way it all unfolds is pretty neat. And I hope they continue letting Gwen be heroic, I think they might!"

Marc Webb shows us Spidey's new costume

Marc Webb loves showing off sneak peaks of his upcoming film, now we have a picture of what Spidey is going to look like in the upcoming film. I didn't really like the last costume, this new costume does seem to look pretty good though. The costume on the last one was pretty crappy you could tell that Webb was just trying to distance himself from Raimi's attempt.
