Sony Pictures planning a Robin Hood what???

 Recent reports are suggesting that Sony Pictures are planning on developing a cinematic universe built around Robin Hood and his fellow characters. According to the reports the original pitch was simply called "Hood" and will feature Robin alongside his Merry Men. Further into the franchise they are said to be planning solo spinoff films for characters like Little John and Will Scarlett.

There is very minimal information about the franchise as of yet, we are hearing that Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott will be writing on the project no number on how many as of yet with Michael De Luca overseeing the whole universe recently working on "Dracula Untold" and "Fifty Shades Of Grey".

Sony Pictures announce Venom and Sinister Six spin-off!!!

I have been waiting for a Venom film for as long as I have been a Spider-Man fan, and that is a pretty long time!

In a move today that is said "to forge a new legacy in the story of Peter Parker on screen", Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that they will in association with Marvel being developing several new films within the Spider-Man franchise. These are sat to be being penned by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon and Drew Goddard with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach set to produce.

The five writers along with Webb and two producers have been kicking ass in forming their new Spidey related universe. This new deal with see Kurtzman, Orci and Pinkner are set to write the screenplay for the third instalment in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise in which they hope Webb will return to direct. That film is set to release in 2016 with the release of this film they are set to expand the universe even more so with Orci, Solomon and Kurtzman writing the screenplay for "Venom" which Kurtzman himself will direct.

The next step in their franchise is to have Goddard write and direct "The Sinister Six" movie, which will focus on the biggest and baddest villains in the Spidey-verse.

Commenting on the announcement, Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures said;
"The Spider-Man film franchise is one of our studio's greatest assets. We are thrilled with the creative team we have assembled to delve more deeply into the world that Marc, Avi and Matt have begun to explore in 'The Amazing Spider-Man' and 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2.' We believe that Marc, Alex, and Drew have uniquely exciting visions for how to expand the Spider-Man universe in each of these upcoming films."

Marc Webb continues to tease "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"

Oh Mr. Webb the man with he befitting name of the film he is Directing,  you are such a tease. You guys and girls need to follow him on Twitter, him like fellow Marvel Director Bryan Singer love Tweeting us lovely pictures. The picture shows two actors dressed as FBI Agents, which leaves us here at Chris Movie Corner a little stumped, are the FBI after Spidey? Are they looking into Oscorp? Looks like we will have to wait and see, but I would rather see S.H.I.E.L.D Agents than FBI Agents damn you Sony owning Spider-Man!

Sony planning "Jumanji" reboot?

The Hollywood Reporter has posted an interview with Columbia Pictures President Doug Belgrand in which he reveals some interesting snippets about what the studio is going to be working on in the foreseeable future.

He was asked if Marc Webb would would be returning to "The Amazing Spider-Man" sequel, Belgrad said it's not a done deal "We'd really like him back, but there are obstacles. He has an obligation to Fox. [Webb owes Fox a post-(500) Days of Summer film.]"

Regarding a sequel to the highly successful "21 Jump Street", Belgrad said "Yes, we plan to start shooting in the fall. There are very few actors -- I'm going to quote Amy -- who can do romance, action and comedy. We're in business with two of them, Channing Tatum and Will Smith."


After mention Will Smith the interviewer went on to ask whether or not there would be another "Men In Black" due to the success of the third, Belgrad said "We're very pleased with the financial performance of Men in Black 3, and we believe it is an ongoing franchise. We're going to do [another one], but we don't have clarity yet on how it should be done,"

He then dropped a huge surprise that nobody seen coming, the studio are looking to reboot "Jumanji" which was directed by Joe Johnston ("Captain America") "We're going to try and re-imagine Jumanji and update it for the present."

Len Wiseman's update on "Total Recall"

Len Wiseman done a little bit of press in the lead up to "Underworld" last weekend, during the interview he was asked about "Total Recall". He let us know that he is ready to turn his director's cut in on Sunday.

"I'm very close to handing over my cut. It's going really well. The combination of mystery and emotion and action, it's coming together. Colin is a large part of that and I'm really happy with him."

"I think the complexity of the dual stories was the most surprising and challenging thing," he said. "When you see Total Recall", the [Paul] Verhoeven film you experience it, it's finished. When you're involved in diving into the material again and going back into the Philip K. Dick story, you realise there is so much to be discussed about the dual stories. There's the reality story and there's the fantasy element. They're running parallel together, so you always have to keep those two alive. That's the inherent nature of the concept and what makes the concept so cool."

"I will say, at the same time, this made all of the conversation I had with my cast fun," Wiseman added. "Every little detail has to apply to both scenarios. My actors would ask, 'So, in this scene, am I - because I know that I'm lying, because I'm the double agent - how well do I act? It sounds like a silly question, but do you want the other character to see through that or am I so good as a double agent that you would never suspect I'm the best buddy or the wife.' It's all of those little things. So, that's my long way of saying the dual nature of the story was the best thing about this."

"Total Recall" official plot released & official picture

The first official picture for the upcoming Sci-Fi/Acton remake "Total Recall" made it's way online before I even started my own blog and never got round to posting it so here it is.

Also Sony Pictures have released the official synopsis for their upcoming film,
