Channing Tatum's Gambit moving forward QUICK!

20th Century Fox have now hired the writer from this years "Robocop" reboot, Josh Zetumer to write their upcoming instalment in the X-Men franchise "Gambit". Tatum is signed on to feature in the film and will also produce under his production company Free Association, while Zetumer is penning the script it is based on a treatment by Chris Clarement (the co-creator of Gambit with Jim Lee).

FOX orders modernised Frankenstein pilot

Yet another revival of a classic Horror story for TV, this seems to happen A LOT in recent years, Horror seems to be the go to now-a-days and I for one am kind of happy it is my genre. According to Deadline, FOX have ordered a pilot from Rand Ravich ("Life") which is simply title "Frankenstein";

The new show, described as a "grounded sci-fi drama" loosely inspired by Mary Shelley's classic 1818 novel, centres on Adam Tremble, "a morally corrupt FBI agent who is given a second chance at life when he is brought back from the dead. Now younger and stronger, Tremble will have to choose between his old temptations and his new sense of purpose — dealing with threats beyond the FBI’s capabilities. All the while navigating the complicated relationship with his “creators”: an antisocial Internet billionaire and his bio-engineer twin sister."

There is truly something about this shows concept that I REALLY like and I can't seem to put my finger on what it is. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this concept progresses.

Channing Tatum talks Gambit progress

While promoting another film, Channing Tatum has given us an update about the future of Gambit.

"We're finding a writer and sort of beating it out,"

"I don't want to give too much away, because we don't know that much right now other than who Gambit is," Tatum said. "We really do want to try our hardest to give something fresh. We’re obviously going to go to the saving the world superhero movies eventually, but maybe not for the first one. We want to introduce this character in a very different way. When you try to do something different, you never know right off the bat what that is. We're feeling our way and really have to just prove that concept of that person."

Nick Cannon joins WHAT?!?!

Unfortunately Nick Cannon has joined the cast of one of the best sitcoms in recent years "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", Cannon is set to portray Captain Holt's (Andre Braugher) nephew, Marcus. A handsome, educated and charming young man, Marcus has just moved to the city and is staying with Holt until he finds his own place. Cannon will first appear on the series in December.

Fox shifts release dates including Independence Day 2

20th Century Fox have been making more than a couple of changes to their upcoming releases, which have included move "Independence Day 2" forward a week from July 1st 2016 to June 24th 2016 it will now do battle with Universal Pictures' The Mummy reboot.

"Hitman: Agent 47" moves from February 27 all the way back to August 28th.

"Scouts vs Zombies" moves from February 20th 2015 to October 30rh 2015.

"Hot Tub Time Machine 2" moves from December 25th 2014 to February 20th 2015, taking "Scouts vs Zombies" old slot.

Fox planning amusement park Slasher/Comedy

20th Century Fox are planning to get ready for their very own "Thrill Ride", Deadline have announced that Fox have took on board the script for an upcoming Slasher Comedy from the writers of "Bad Neighbours" Brendan O'Brien and Andrew Jay Cohen the pair are also signed on to direct.

Peter Warren will provide the screenplay for "Thrill Ride";
"which takes place at the end of a high school semester and follows the senior class on an exclusive visit to an amusement part. It's not long, however, before people start turning up dead and the survivors find themselves trapped and at the hands of a homicidal madman or woman."

Why "Deadpool" should NOT be PG 13!

Where to begin on why "Deadpool" should not be a PG 13, well the main reason it should be is because you will struggle to find a single fan who agrees with the idea of it. There has been talk about the potential idea of a solo Deadpool film since Ryan Reynolds played the Merc With a Mouth back in 2009 in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" however in my opinion they should drop Ryan Reynolds get a new Deadpool!

So after the leaked footage surfaced a few months ago, the whole comic world went absolutely crazy with excitement, the details we could make out through the grainy imagery was a brilliant look at how it may be done. However, Fox decided to release their HD version of said test footage resulting in a lot of us being let down, turns out that the whole thing was CG, nobody wants that Fox, NOBODY! If you haven't seen it, you're in luck (kind of);

Given this test footage it was safe to assume that we would be getting a 15/18 or R-Rated depending on your location, however, turns out we were all wrong it's looking very likely now that Fox are set to make the film a 12/PG-13. Could they be any further from being right?

Hello, Fox? DO WE MATTER?!?!

Lets all be honest, is Reynolds a viable option still? I mean David S Goyer signed on to make a solo Deadpool film in February 2004 and back then Reynolds was attached to star, so for OVER a decade they have been trying to get it made and haven't even came close. Surely somebody doesn't have faith in this project or it is just not meant to happen. I say start from scratch wipe it all clear and start from scratch anyway I digress back to PG-13. I will post some panels from Deadpool comics to prove that child friendly rating is so wrong it's laughable.

Surely Wade's physical appearance is child friendly?

That's just four panels I came across doing a tiny bit of looking, my time reading a few Deadpool comics I guess around 30, there is probably countless ones in them alone that prove my point. Just because you own the rights to a character Fox, doesn't mean you should bend the idea over and go in dry. You just have to look at what use done in "X:Men Origins: Wolverine" to see how you destroyed a character, even the look in Origins was awful.

I envision this is how the majority of Deadpool fans are sitting right now awaiting your decision Fox, do the right thing, GIVE US GORE AND VULGARITY!!!

Fox casting a young Bruce Wayne for "Gotham"

A few months ago news broke that Fox have made a straight-to-series commitment to "Gotham", the live-action based show that is set to follow the escapades of a young Detective names James Gordon. TV Show Auditions are reporting they are casting a 10-year-old Bruce Wayne for the show and it would be a regular role.

According to the site: "A 10-year-old Bruce Wayne is among the roles that are now being cast as series regulars on the upcoming Fox TV series "Gotham" which explores the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains that made Gotham City famous. Under development for over a year, the project has now been given a direct-to-series order by the network, which won an intense bidding war for the Warner Bros. Television rights to the show. Shooting on the pilot episode will get underway in March, 2014 and will center on Gotham City PD rookie homicide detective James Gordon who investigates the double murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne."

"Independence Day 2" moved to 2016

Looks like we have another casualty to the packed 2015 movie schedule and this time it is "Independence Day 2" which is now set to release July 1, 2016 which is roughly the 20th anniversary of the release of "independence Day".

It is still unknown or not that Will Smith will be retuning for the sequel, even though recently is has been confirmed that there has been 2 scripts written for the film one for either outcome of Smiths inclusion in the film. 

Jack Bauer is RETURNING!!!

Fox have ordered "24: Live Another Day", a new action packed series of that will restart the incredible Emmy Award winning franchise "24". The show featured Kiefer Sutherland, as Jack Bauer CTU agent saving the world one day at a time.

The announcement was made this morning by Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Fox Broadcasting Company; Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen, Twentieth Century Fox Television; and Brian Grazer, Chairman, Imagine Entertainment.

"It's great to have Jack back. '24' redefined the drama genre, and as we reimagine the television miniseries, this iconic show will again break new ground for the network," said Reilly. "The series remains a global sensation, and everyone at Fox is thrilled to be back at work with Kiefer, Howard and the incredibly creative '24' team."

"When Howard came to us saying he had an idea for a new chapter of '24,' he quite simply had us at 'hello,'" remarked 20th Century Fox Television Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden. "'24' is a signature series for this studio, beloved by critics and audiences worldwide. Howard's idea to revive the franchise as an event series couldn't be timelier, and with the brilliant Kiefer Sutherland on board to reprise his iconic role, we can't wait to get started."

Robert Kirkman to work on Exorcism TV Series

"The Walking Dead" is undoubtedly the biggest Horror related show on television these days and it looks like Fox want their part of that success. They have hired Kirkman to develop an Exorcism TV Series based on an upcoming comic, according to Deadline;


"Los Angeles– 4 March 2013 – FOX International Channels (FIC),The Walking Dead Creator/Executive Producer Robert Kirkman, Kirkman’s Skybound imprint at Image Comics, and Circle of Confusion are developing a script based on Kirkman’s upcoming comic book series set in the world of exorcism. This partnership emerged from a long-standing and successful relationship between Kirkman and FIC during the ongoing run of AMC’s hit series, The Walking Dead, based on Kirkman’s Eisner Award-winning comic book series, on which FIC is international partner.

Told through the Kirkman prism, the series follows a young man, Kyle Barnes, who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now an adult, he embarks on a spiritual journey to find answers but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it. Kirkman will serve as executive producer alongside The Walking Dead executive producer David Alpert of Circle of Confusion.
Kirkman states, ‘Sharon Tal Yguado and the entire team at FOX International Channels have been instrumental in making The Walking Dead the worldwide success that it has become. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to continue working with this forward-thinking and extremely talented group.’

Daniel Radcliffe to star in Frankenstein?

Director Shawn Levy the man behind "Night At The Museum" 1 & 2, was set to be working a new version of "Frankenstein" for Fox in early 2012. However Paul McGuigan director of a few "Sherlock" episodes took over an we haven't heard a single thing since September, it appears that the movie is alive an still has legs. More news is surfacing that Daniel Radcliffe is set to star in the film as Igor, Variety are reporting that he is in final negotiations.

That does sound a little bit unusual, but the movie is based on a script written by Max Landis the genius behind "Chronicle". Landis' script focuses on Frankenstein's assistant, the movie is expected to put a new twist on the original Frakenstein story. The film is set to have a more of a Sci-Fi aspect to it, the deal for Radcliffe isn't 100% tied up of yet but if/when he signs on the film will move a lot more quickly I think. It's reported that Fox would like to start production on the film when Radcliffe wraps up his role in The Cripple Of Inishmaan stage play.

"Zombieland" TV Series?

It's looking more and more likely that a "Zombieland" sequel is not going to happen, which I personally believe is heartbreaking I loved the original. But, the Zombieland TV Series that has been rumoured since I'd say 2011 appears to be on the up and up. Back in October 2011, it was announced that Fox and Paramount Pictures were discussing bringing onto the TV scene.

Back then Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick the original screenwriters for the movie were working on scripts for to be developed as 30 minute episodes. For those that were unaware, like myself "Zombieland" was originally developed as a TV Pilot which was written by Reese and Wernick so these guys have had the basic layout for a TV Series set up for a long time.

It's being reported that the project is moving onto the casting stages an the production company has sent out casting call sheets for the main characters. It's looking likely that the characters are going to differ a bit from the film, below we have some apparent information on what the characters are going to be like.


“Tallahassee is still kind of a snarky weirdo, but he seems to have a much less spiky relationship with Columbus. He and Columbus have a pretty amusing thing where they riff on the fact that Steven Seagal movies always have three-word titles like “Marked for Justice” or “May Cause Diarrhea.” But Tallahassee also dispenses homespun wisdom about how to feel happy with your life. He also tells a weird story about being in a trailer park with a perpetually nude Matthew McConaughey. He also has a somewhat heartwarming scene where he tells Columbus that he’s been wandering aimlessly for a long time, but maybe he’s been put here for a reason — to help Columbus and the others.

Columbus is much the same, except that he tracks down his grandma and grandpa (Bubbie and Peepaw) only to find them recently zombiefied. Also, Columbus is trying to deal with his newfound relationship with Wichita, after their first kiss. He has started calling her “Krista,” her real name — but there are some problems, especially after she finds him reading a book about fatherhood. He tries to organize a romantic scavenger hunt for her in the IKEA they’re camping out in, but it goes kind of horribly.

Wichita is still trying to look after Little Rock, trying to teach her math with problems about someone stealing from a liquor store and jumping on a train going 42 miles per hour, with a cop chasing in a car going 88 miles per hour. We also learn a lot more about Wichita’s backstory, including how she ran away from her father after he had her stealing people’s Christmas presents — and later, she found out she had a sister who was also being a grifter with her dad.

Little Rock seems actually kind of excited about meeting Columbus’ grandparents, before they turn out to be zombies. And she shares some of her own backstory, about how her dad parked her at a school while he went off grifting on his own — and then yanked her out of school right before a dance that she was looking forward to.”

Bare in mind that none of these details have been officially announced, with that being said what television station wouldn't want this on their network. Look at the success of some of the other Horror related shows on television now "Supernatural" has reached its 9th Season, "Walking Dead" is one of the favourite shows in the US and the UK plus the likes of "True Blood" and "American Horror Story".
