Joel Silver moves forward with "Escape From New York" reboot

A few years back it looked like a reboot for "Escape From New York" was moving forward under New Line Cinema with director Breck Eisner, that version eventually fell through. However, it looks like a new project has gained a lot of momentum in recent weeks, according to Deadline. Joel Silver is teaming up with StudioCanal to create a new and exciting franchise based around Snake Plissken.

The main plan is to start fresh with new material an set itself for a trilogy of films, however it was mentioned that the first film is set to be a Snake Plissken origin story which has been compared to "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes". A writer is yet yo be hired, and the film is in very early stages of discussions so I doubt we will hear anything about the project this year, if we do expect it to closer to Winter. There is already a few names being thrown about for the role of Snake, included are Gerard Butler, Jeremy Renner and Tom Hardy.

Looks like over my 2-3 week hiatus, I missed a lot of "The Dark Knight Rises" information a lot of them are pictures. So here it goes, expect some cool stuff in this post. With this amount of media release you wouldn't think that there was still a few months until the film releases.

"Lawless" character posters

I mentioned this film a few months back in a post about Tom Hardy possibly playing Al Capone in a future biopic, think I advertised it as "The Wettest County". Well now it has been changed to "Lawless" an here are some character posters from the upcoming Crime/Drama. The film has a lot going for it just from the cast, but I believe this film is going to go either way it will either be incredibly amazing or dreadfully poor there will be no in between. These posters are not that interesting as they don't give to much away but they've peaked my interested due to Shia LaBeouf, Gary Oldman an Tom Hardy.

"The Dark Knight Rises" new trailer

While this trailer is pretty bad ass, I still can't get re-excited over this film. Christian Bale's acting overall is abysmal, I tried watching "American Psycho" not so long ago and turned it off after 30 minutes. Even his acting in this trailer is pretty bad the "This isn't a car" line actually made me cringe. This trailer is more story driven an seems to be building towards the big fight between Batman an Bane. You can really see the big scenes that Nolan has put his signature on, the whole bridge exploding was incredible guessing it will look even more incredible in IMAX. The use of Catwoman (Hathaway) is looking like more than just a foe, it seems like they could explore a romantic storyline between the Bat an the Cat.

With all these new pictures from "The Dark Knight Rises" appearing online it's making it a lil' harder to focus on the other big films this week. Today a few images showcasing Batman vs Bane have made their way online.

With Nolan's blockbuster set to hit the big screen in about three months time, here is some news for the big cinephile's out there. The film is set to have over 60 minutes of original IMAX footage from genuine IMAX camera's rather than post converted footage.  

"When Mr. Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” opens July 20, it will contain the most IMAX footage ever for a Hollywood feature, more than one hour’s worth. There were 40 minutes of such footage in 2008′s “The Dark Knight”—which set box-office records in its opening weekend. IMAX’s summer slate also includes potential blockbusters “The Avengers,” “The Amazing Spider-Man,” “Men in Black 3,” Tim Burton’s gothic comedy “Dark Shadows,” and Ridley Scott’s 3-D “Prometheus.” Mr. Nolan’s film was the only one shot using IMAX cameras; the others were converted using IMAX’s technology."

Today new promotional pictures of Bane from the upcoming Batman instalment "The Dark Knight Rises" appeared online, the image speaks for itself Bane looks bad ass an terrifying in my opinion. The character looks like he should be fighting full on superheroes like Superman or Wolverine not a measly human like Bruce Wayne ha ha.

Bane shows "battle scar"

Warner Bros have released a new image from "The Dark Knight Rises" which gives us a slight insight into the rough lifestyle Bane has been leading.
I'm guessing that the neck scar links into the painkilling apparatus worn by Bane himself, seems to imply a possible spinal or neck injury in the past.

Five new stills for the highly anticipated Batman instalment made there way online, the still feature the Bat himself, Bane and Commissioner Gordon.

Tom Hardy set to play Al Capone

When I read this I was extremely intrigued to say the least, I personally think Tom Hardy is a great actor an will go onto great things and I have always had in interest in Al Capone an the prohibition era in America (1920's through to roughly 1933 I believe). The film is set to be directed by the genius behind the final four instalments of the iconic Harry Potter franchise, being a Potter fan myself this also brought my intrigue to an all time high.
The film is set to release in 2014, but we might not have to wait to long to see Hardy in the prohibition area. "Wettest County" releases this year,
"Set in the Depression-era Franklin County, Virginia, a bootlegging gang is threatened by authorities who want a cut of their profits."

The film is set to be called "Cireco" which takes it's name from Cicero, Illinois where Capone set up his main headquarters, so that he could operate outside the city limits of Chicago during the 1920s.

"Tom Hardy said he will play the Depression-era Chicago crime boss sometime next year and well into 2014:
Tom Hardy: ‘I’ve been working with Warner Bros., watching their gangster films – the ones with James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart and Edward G. Robinson. It’s interesting to get them, and a bit of Capone, into the bloodstream."
These are ALL the details that are circulating about the film, and I'm guessing it's going to be a long time before we hear anymore news so drink it all in.
