Joel Silver moves forward with "Escape From New York" reboot

A few years back it looked like a reboot for "Escape From New York" was moving forward under New Line Cinema with director Breck Eisner, that version eventually fell through. However, it looks like a new project has gained a lot of momentum in recent weeks, according to Deadline. Joel Silver is teaming up with StudioCanal to create a new and exciting franchise based around Snake Plissken.

The main plan is to start fresh with new material an set itself for a trilogy of films, however it was mentioned that the first film is set to be a Snake Plissken origin story which has been compared to "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes". A writer is yet yo be hired, and the film is in very early stages of discussions so I doubt we will hear anything about the project this year, if we do expect it to closer to Winter. There is already a few names being thrown about for the role of Snake, included are Gerard Butler, Jeremy Renner and Tom Hardy.

Trailer "Bourne Legacy"

Finally another trailer for "Bourne Legacy", this trailer is a lot more action packed than the last. This film seems a lot more Jason Bourne orientated than I expected it to be, I thought it would all be Aaron Cross.
I love Jeremy Renner, but I'm still finding it hard to get my head around a Bourne film with Matt Damon or Bourne himself being the head honcho. From what I can gather from the trailer, looks like they are trying to tone down the Bourne character an bring in Cross as some sort of super soldier.

Five new international posters for the upcoming "Avengers" film are now available online, I for one love the Japanese poster showing off the characters in both sides. I am going to be alternating these as my back ground for my laptop for the upcoming weeks.

We've seen the first official photo of Jeremy Renner in "The Bourne Legacy", now we have the official teaser trailer. The trailer looks great, but I am missing Matt Damon already. It's pretty weird to watch this trailer and hear the word "Treadstone" mentioned without actually seeing Jason Bourne himself.

"Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" was originally slated to be coming out this March, of late I have had a weird feeling something was going on with two months left until it's release an no official trailer released yet. Something seemed a bit off, Paramount have now officially announced that the film is being delayed until January 11th, 2013.
The reason behind the delay is believed that Paramount are trying to capitalise on Jeremy Renner's new found fame, and his appearances in "The Avengers" and "The Bourne Legacy" will not hurt this theory. Also Paramount has had major success with their most recent horror film "The Devil Inside", they are hoping the horror fans will all be coming out next January as well.
