Quicksilver going SOLO?!?!?

To say that Evan Peter's stole the show when he played Quicksilver in this years "X-Men: Days Of Future Past", so it wasn't going to be long before we got some more Quicksilver on the big screen. According to Brian Smrz a second unit director has said there is a "fun" scene in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse".

"They want me to start pretty soon, on the storyboarding and stuff," Smrz tells Newsarama. "I’ll be working on the next X-Men for the next month or so part-time, and by the end of the year it’ll be full-time... There will be another Quicksilver scene, which I'm looking forward to. That'll be fun."

"We talked about Quicksilver before," responds Smrz when asked what sort of film he'd like to direct. "I'd love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there's a lot to enjoy with that character."

So after the last time Simon Kinberg wrote an X-Men movie, and obliterated all we love in "The Last Stand" I was extremely worried that he had signed on to write "Days Of Future Past". All I can say is "welcome back Bryan Singer!".

You're off to a good start when the incredible voice of Sir Patrick Stewart begins the movie setting the tone of this dystopian world in which mutants are living. The 2023 apocalypse is upon them in which Sentinels are out to kill of mutant kind, and they incorporate the great idea of sending Wolverine back in time to 1973 in order for him to help save the First Class team and mutant kind alike.

Upon arriving back in 1973 is extremely clear that Professor X (McAvoy) is in a pretty bad way, becoming a social recluse hiding away since the Cuban incident which left him paralysed with now having Beast (Hoult) help look after him. While Mystique is off on her merry mission to try and kill the creator of aforementioned Sentinel creator Bolivar Trask (Dinklage) an assassination that is set to escalate Trasks Sentinel programme.

I don't really want to delve anymore into the story that they go with in the movie, it is that good I would rather you watch it yourselves to get deep in the story, it is that phenomenal. There is some scenes that will blow your mind! I will say there may or may not be a scene when Charles meets Charles, you have to see it to believe it. But the scene stealer goes to Evan Peters, he went from a casting we ALL laughed at, to stealing the whole film in this one scene.

In conclusion the movie is a masterpiece, not only is it an overly great Superhero movie it also holds its own against the biggest movies of the year. Not only was it one of the best movies of the year, for me it is one of the better releases in recent years. A thoroughly enjoyable watch, for Marvel fans and none comic book fans alike. Singer was completely on point with this movie, it was a very ambitious project yet he delivered in the biggest way.

"X-Men: Days Of Future Past" new trailer

20th Century Fox has just released a new trailer for their upcoming X-Men movie "X-Men: Days Of Future Past".
"The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The beloved characters from the original "X-Men" film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class, in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future."

Gambit and Nightcrawler returning for "X-Men: Apocaypse"???

Even though we are not getting "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" until the Summer of this year, Director Bryan Singer is already casting his eye forward in the X-Men franchise. During a recent interview Singer himself revealed he is looking at the possibility of Gambit and Nightcrawler returning for "X-Men: Apocalypse".

"I'm considering Gambit and potentially a young Nightcrawler for 'Apocalypse,'" Singer told the outlet (the quotes have, however, been translated back into English from Spanish). "I was going to have Nightcrawler [in 'Days of Future Past'] and even wrote a scene, but I felt that we were forcing too many mutants into the story."

For months now there has been talk of a Gambit stand alone film, which is causing a lot of excitement in the fan boy world. With names like Channing Tatum being floated around it is a little less exciting, I personally think Taylor Kitsch was a decent Gambit. However, I would love to see a new dude take over, Tom Mison, Josh Holloway or Alexander Skarsgard come to mind.

Fox have hired Simon Kinberg to create a Marvel style universe for X-Men and Fantastic Four!

Following the announcement today from 20th Century Fox will releasing "X-Men: Apocalypse" in 2016, The Hollyood Reported have also learned that Simon Kinberg has signed a new three-year deal with the studio in order to help them create a "Marvel style" universe for both their "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" films.

"I have a lot of ideas on how to build those brands and do what everybody is thinking of these days: Be like Marvel," Kinberg said. "I want to be able to build stories over multiple movies."

Kinberg recently wrote the screenplay for "Days Of Future Past" which he is also producing. He has also became heavily involved in helping Josh Trank get the "Fantastic Four" reboot off the ground as both a writer and producer.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" set for May 27, 2016!!!

Did not see this coming! Bryan Singer today revealed the title of the upcoming instalment in the X-Men franchise. May 27th of 2016 will see the release of "X-Men: Apocalypse".

Apocalypse was created by Louise and Walter Simonson, made his debut in X-Factor #6. The world's first mutant, En Sabah Nur was born in Egypt around 3,000 BC and used advanced technology to make himself an eternal conqueror, believing whole-heartedly in survival of the fittest.

Jennifer Lawrence talks Mystique

Speaking with IGN recently Jennifer Lawrence talked about where we are going to find Mystique in the upcoming sequel.

"We find Raven, she's split off from Eric and Charles and she's kind of her own agent. She has one mission of trying to assassinate somebody and it will be her first kill basically, and because we've seen her in the future and what she becomes and this is kind of a turning point for her."

Patrick Stewart talks "X-Men: Days Of Future Past"

Prof. X himself has given us a little insight in to what is going on with "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" at Comicpalooza.

"I think it is going to certainly be the X-Men of all X-Men pictures, and one doesn't want to tempt fate, but perhaps also the blockbuster of 2014. It was a wonderful experience to reunited with those people."

Stewart began to elaborate on a few details for the film, including Charles Xavier's return.

"It's been 6 or 7 years since X-Men 3, where you will recall that Charles Xavier was vaporized by whats-her-name, Jean Grey. And you're asking yourselves, 'If you were vaporized, how can you be in the next X-Men movie?' Anybody got any ideas how that came about?" One audience member yelled out "Time travel," to which Stewart responded: "Yeah, that's exactly it. I guess. There will be an explanation, but it was a little puzzling for me because I thought my X-Men days were over. So, it's something to look forward to."

Quicksilver in "Avengers 2" and "Days Of Future Past"?

In recent weeks it was confirmed that Quicksilver would be featuring in "Avengers 2", an now it has been confirmed the character will feature in "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" played by Evan Peters who is more than likely known by most for his roles in "America Horror Story".

"Though it seemed like the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past was all filled up, director Bryan Singer just revealed one last addition. Through Twitter, Singer announced that “American Horror Story” regular and Kick-Ass co-star Evan Peters is playing Quicksilver, a character with superhuman speed who happens to be the son of Magneto and the twin brother of Scarlet Witch." via FirstShowing


A lot of people questioned how he was going to work in two different films that are being made by two different studios. Luckily for them the great guys over at Superhero Hype asked Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige that exact question, read what he had to say;

"There’s a specific arrangement with those two characters that would allow us to use them with Avengers, but not discuss or reference their mutant or Magneto-related lineage. [Fox] can use them as mutants and as Magneto’s relatives, but cannot have anything to do with The Avengers.” So while Fox and Marvel can use the characters, they’re limited as to what parts of the comic book mythology they can use. This has the potential to create some confusion for fans, but there will likely be plenty of explanation online if necessary."

So he will exist within the two universes, and have relationships with The X-Men and The Avengers but each universe will not mention the relationship he has with the other group of superheros, right got it? Have I? It's upsetting that the studios can't come to some sort of agreement for these type of events like Spider-Man and possible Avengers connection. The plots for both studios would be exponentially better if they mixed up their characters more. Like if Quicksilvers origins were linked back to him being the son of Magneto and having The Avengers come in an help fight Magneto an his army of whatever. Just could be so much better if the studios didn't own certain characters.

 

Peter Dinklage on "Days Of Future Past" set

So there has been a lot of speculation circling around the Internet in recent weeks of who exactly Peter Dinklage will be playing in "X-Men: Days Of Future Past". Now it looks like Mr. Singer has sort of confirmed who is it Bolivar Trask is the name on peoples lips. Can't really say I'm a big Dinklage fan (no pun intended) only ever seen him "Death At A Funeral" so excited to actually see why people rate him so highly (also not another pun).

Halle Berry joins "Days Of Future Past"

Ever since Bryan Singer took over on "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" there has been rumours about cast members from the previous films might be coming back. With Hugh Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore reprising their roles, we can now add Halle Berry to that list.

Bryan Singer teases X-Men characters

Bryan Singer is the ultimate tease! Today, IGN spoke with Singer an asked him if he wanted Cyclops and Jean Grey to appear in "Days Of Future Past".
  
"Who wouldn’t?," he laughed, mysteriously. "Who wouldn’t? That’s all I can say."

James Marsden and Famke Janssen who played Cyclops and Jean Grey in "X-Men" and "X2" before they were both killed off in Brett Ratners "X-Men: The Last Stand". However, considering the time-travel story arc used within "Days Of Future Past", both characters could easily return to the franchise.

Brayn Singer teases Dinklage's role

Bryan Singer seems to be having a lot of fun surrounding the role in which Peter Dinklage will play, we all know that Dinklage signed on last week to star in "Days Of Future Past" as the main villain. The Interenet has been up in a craze trying to figure out who on earth Dinklage will actually play, some people have theorised that he will be CGI (like Andy Serkis in "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes"), others have suggested he may be Bolivar Trask some saying M.O.D.O.K a usual villain for Captain America or The Watcher usually pitted against The Fantastic Four.

However, it seems Singer has put all these rumours to rest in a recent interview;

"He’s not going to be a CGI character, he’ll be himself. Not that he’ll be playing Peter Dinklage, he’ll be playing this character. It’s not a shy character. He’s just such a phenomenal actor; I’m a huge fan of Peter’s and Game of Thrones. He was my first choice and I was really happy [about the casting]. It’s so funny to talk to him because he does that impeccable accent [on Game of Thrones] and then you talk to him and he’s this guy from New Jersey."

The interview lends more belief to the most recent rumour that has surfaced, that Dinklage will in fact play the creator of the mutant hutning sentinals, Bolivar Trask. We may not know for a few weeks or even months what character Dinklage will be portraying but for now it is fun to speculate, so let the speculation begin.

"X-Men: Days Of Future Past" update

The casting list for Bryan Singers "X-Men: Days Of Future Past", Shawn Ashmore will be returning as Iceman along with Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde and Anna Paquin as Rogue.

"Director Bryan Singer announced via Twitter Saturday three additional original trilogy actors will be returning for 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Anna Paquin, who played Rogue in the first three films, as well as Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) will be appearing in Fox’s followup to 2011’s mutant prequel, X-Men: First Class."

Singer also stated that he had a conversation about time travel with James Cameron, plus the addition of Kitty & Rogue there may be a possibility of a proper translation of Days Of Future Past to the big screen time travel and all.


"It’s epic. We get to bring both casts together. We’ve cracked it in a way that makes sense. I had a two-hour conversation with James Cameron about time travel, string theory, multiverses and all that. You have to create your rules and stick with them. That’s what makes TERMINATOR and BACK TO THE FUTURE work so well. And there are certain mechanisms in X-Men, certain powers, perceptions and characters, that make this possible. More than any of the movies I’ve made, it comes to me much more quickly than on other films. With Superman Returns I struggled a lot. I guess it’s either my history with the X-Men universe or I have some kind of knack for this particular story."

January Jones not in "X-Men Days Of Future Past"

Since the original announcement of the film, the cast has grown and grown, but now it is looking like we've lost Emma Frost played by the beautiful January Jones. She has also said she doesn't really know anything about the film either.

“I don’t know that I’m in it, I don’t think Emma’s in this one.  Well they haven’t told me if I am (laughs).  I wouldn’t put it past them though, I got the script for the first one on the airplane on the way there.  It’s called Days of Future Past I think, and I think it’s more about James [McAvoy] and Michael [Fassbender] and then Patrick [Stewart] and Ian [McKellan], and I think it’s gonna go back and forth with those so I don’t think Emma’s in those bits.  I don’t know, I really don’t know.”

"Days Of Future Past" casting news

Not only is Bryan Singer reprising his role as director but he has also confirmed some huge news on his Twitter. The incredible Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are both returning to reprise their roles as Magneto and Professor X plus he also confirmed the return of Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy & Nicholas Hoult as Mystique, Magneto, Professor X and Beast.

This is pretty exciting news for anybody who is a fan of the X-Men franchise in my opinion, lets hope they all come together for another great X-Men movie.
