Top 10 heist movies!

So ever since I completed Grand Theft Auto 5 I have been dying to watch a big heist/robbery style film, I have seen all the obvious ones so I thought I would do a top 5 of my personal favourites when it comes to the big job!

I thought about including "Inception" in the list, I just couldn't bring myself to include. While this
film is a great film, the heist is all in the mind, so for me it is not a true heist. However, this is definitely an honourable mention, more than likely even top of that list!

10 - The Bank Job
"Martine offers Terry a lead on a foolproof bank hit on London's Baker Street. She targets a roomful of safe deposit boxes worth millions in cash and jewelry. But Terry and his crew don't realize the boxes also contain a treasure trove of dirty secrets - secrets that will thrust them into a deadly web of corruption and illicit scandal." IMDB

9 - Three Kings
"In the aftermath of the Persian Gulf War, 4 soldiers set out to steal gold that was stolen from Kuwait, but they discover people who desperately need their help." IMDB

8 - The Italian Job 2003
"After being betrayed and left for dead in Italy, Charlie Croker and his team plan an elaborate gold heist against their former ally." IMDB

7 - Inside Man
"A police detective, a bank robber, and a high-power broker enter high-stakes negotiations after the criminal's brilliant heist spirals into a hostage situation." IMDB

6 - Point Break
"An FBI agent goes undercover to catch a gang of bank robbers who may be surfers." IMDB

5 - Ronin
"A freelancing former US intelligence agent tries to track down a mysterious package that is wanted by both the Irish and the Russians." IMDB

4 - The Town
"As he plans his next job, a longtime thief tries to balance his feelings for a bank manager connected to one of his earlier heists, as well as the FBI agent looking to bring him and his crew down." IMDB

3 - Heat
"A group of professional bank robbers start to feel the heat from police when they unknowingly leave a clue at their latest heist." IMDB

2 - The Italian Job 1969
"Comic caper movie about a plan to steal a gold shipment from the streets of Turin by creating a traffic jam." IMDB

1 - Ocean's Eleven 2002
"Danny Ocean and his eleven accomplices plan to rob three Las Vegas casinos simultaneously." IMDB

Top 10 films of 2013!

Some of you may know last year I created my own kind of awards, just because I don't agree with the main award organisations a lot of the time. So here they are again the WAFA's (Wilson Appreciation of Film Awards, AWFUL name I know ha). I will probably have to state I DO NOT watch a lot of if any international Cinema or foreign language films, this year I am going to add to it, plus I do not watch films that are made for the awards like a lot of the Indie films these days. I'd say over 95% of my movie enjoyment comes from blockbuster releases or films which people consider "Hollywood" releases.

After spending hours reading hundreds of top 10/25/50/100 lists of films from 2013 I have came to the conclusion that "professional" reviewers suck up all this Indie crap like their lives depend on it. A lot of them also seem to make their list in order to just annoy people I have seen countless lists that have "Spring Breakers" in the top 5, that film wouldn't even make my top 100!

Best - Top 10!
10 - This Is The End - nearly didn't make it due to how much Danny McBride is in it but I gritted my teeth and added it.

9 - We're The Millers

8 - A Good Day To Die Hard

7 - The World's End

6 - World War Z

5 - Star Trek Into Darkness

4 - Evil Dead

3 - Man Of Steel

2 - Lone Survivor

1 - The Wolverine

Honorable mentions;
Gangster Squad
Internship
Fast & Furious 6
Mama
Insidious Chapter 2 - eons better than the first.
Pacific Rim
The Conjuring
Monsters University
The Heat

Best Film
The Wolverine - was a true toss up between this, "Man Of Steel" and "Lone Survivor".

Best Director
Peter Berg & Fede Alvarez for "Lone Survivor" and "Evil Dead" respectively.
"Lone Survivor" was pure War porn, but is there truly anything wrong with that I ask you? Ha.
Plus "Evil Dead" was a saving grace for all us Horror fans out there!

Overachievers
I was pleasently surprised with some of the Horrors last year, I didn't really expect to enjoy any besides "Evil Dead", however I was more than happy with "Mama", "The Conjuring" and "Insidious: Chapter 2" which was eons better than the first.
1 - Evil Dead
2 - The Conjuring
3 - The Heat
4 - The Internship
5 - Mama

Underachievers
There were two major stand out underachievers in my eye last year they were;
1 - 2 Guns
2 - Now You See Me

Lead Male
Mark Wahlberg - Lone Survivor

Lead Female
Jane Levy - Evil Dead

Supporting Male
Jai Courtney - A Good Day To Die Hard - Jai is probably a lead co-star in the film but nobody is on par with Bruce Willis.

Supporting Female
Rila Fukushima - The Wolverine

Visual Effects
Man Of Steel

Original Screenplay
Simon Pegg & Edgar Wright - The Worlds End

Adapted Screenplay
Peter Berg - Lone Survivor

Animated
Monsters University

Worst
For my worst I planned on picking a top 5, after doing my reading into what actually released this year it was impossible for me to whittle it down to 5. So here are my WORST films of the year in no particular order due to their awfulness they are just bunched together;
Grown Ups 2
Now You See Me
After Earth
The Hangover 3
Identity Thief
Kick Ass 2
The Purge
Dark Skies
Oblivion
G.I Joe Retaliation

10 Superheroes who deserve their own movies!

So with all my excitement due to the fact that "Man Of Steel" is out in days instead of months or weeks, I decided to make a little (kind of) list of superheroes/heroes I think deserve their own film. Some of these are already being talked about an rumoured however these are just the films I would love to see on the big screen. These are in no specific order, they are just the order that they came into my head when I was writing this down. I would LOVE to hear what you guys/girls think, also would love to hear what characters you think deserve their own films.

Wonder Woman - Well there has been talk of a Wonder Woman film for as long as I have been a comic fan. One day we HAVE to see her on the big screen, not only is she a great character she is the best female hero there has ever been in my opinion.

Batgirl - Like we don't want to see Barbara Gordon donning the female cape crusader role, she is my favourite Batgirl until what happened with the Joker when she became Oracle.

Birds Of Prey - Not many people know about this, but back in 2002 WB attempted bringing "Birds Of Prey" to TV and all in all it was a pretty decent show. They had Ashley Scott as Huntress, Dina Meyer as Barbara Gordon/Oracle, Rachel Skarsten as Black Canary. The lack of Batgirl was a bit disappointing but they did use Huntress as Helena Wayne, Batman and Catwomans daughter.

Nightwing - Nightwing has been played by more DC characters than I care to list, I am new to the Nightwing fan club, however the second you read about him you know he is a bad ass. So anybody want to pick out there favourite Nightwing an that can be the one they use for the film ha.

Spider-Girl - The daughter of the web slinger himself an his long suffering girlfriend/wife Mary Jane. She is from the future in an alternate universe, so I'm not 100% sure how all that works, but it does an she looks bad ass. She would make a great character an have her fighting Sabreclaw, Wolverines son from this crazy alternate universe.

Martian Manhunter - So J'onn J'onnz, in all seriousness isn't too far off what you associate with Superman. Super strength, speed, senses, flight, however he also has telekinesis, invisibility, telepathy he is just an all round bad ass. Oh an did I mention he is from MARS, he deserves a film for just being a Martian never mind all the other cool features he has.

Deadpool - Another film the studios have been teasing us with for a while now, the "merc with a mouth" would make a great on screen character. Not too dissimilar to the character that Ryan Reynolds played in "Blade 3 Trinity", so that is why he is the obvious choice, plus he has already played him in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". Let's just hope that his venture into video games in the coming months helps the studios bring this guy to the big screen.
Flash - Back in '04 David S. Goyer wrote a script for a Flash film which was set to feature Reynolds as the title character however in '07 he dropped out citing creative differences thank god ay ha. He writes amazing stuff but Reynolds as Flash? No thanks, we all know Flash don't we? The dude who runs fast kind of Usain Bolt before it was cool ha ha.

Black Panther - He's been around since the mid '60's an doesn't get the credit he deserves, he is a skilled hunter, tracker, strategist, politician, inventor, and scientist. He has a Ph.D. in Physics from Oxford University. Considered one of the eight smartest people on the planet, he is a genius in physics and advanced technology, and is a brilliant inventor. He also has been granted the knowledge of every past Black Panther.

Venom - Does this one really need a paragraph? He has been spoken about religiously since Tobey Maguire unfortunately suited up as every body's favourite neighbourhood superhero.
