When you first read the synopsis for this film you instantly think why, why would this even be a film it seems over the top, well I did personally.

When David Wozniak played by the hugely loved Vince Vaughn finds out that he is the father of 533 children through his donations that he made to a fertility clinic (sperm bank for those who don't know) two decades ago. He now learns that a huge chunk of these children want to meet him and find out who their father is. Going against the advice from his best friend and lawyer Brett (Pratt) also in unison with trying to fix the relationship he has with his girlfriend Emma (Cobie Smulders), David decides to seek out his children to find out how they have ended up.

Extremely-fertile David Wozniak, is such a simple character with a heart of gold, he is a driver of a deli truck for his family's butcher business, a job which he does very badly according to his father. He is also a bit of a simpleton at times, given that his girlfriend is a policewoman and he turns his apartment into a marijuana den. Sick of him being a relative failure, she finds out that she is pregnant and tells him that she is going to raise the baby without any of his help.

David has MUCH bigger problems when it's comes up that there has been a cock-up (yes I did just use two puns, hopefully the last ha) resulting in him fathering 533 children, now 142 of which want to know the identity of their biological father who is known only be the name of "Starbuck". Going against advice from Brett (Pratt) he decides to go all ninja like and to an extent spy on his new found children in which he discovers their talents range from pro basketball player, actor, busker and even to a less desirable end of the spectrum one of his children has a drug problem another has severe disabilities and is confined to a wheel chair.

This film is a kind of a change of pace for Vaughn who we have seen play numerous frat boy-esque characters, even his most recent role before this in "The Internship" was very frat boy, he even turned his Google team into their own the fraternity ha. Not to say that his past films don't have a huge push on the Drama side as does a lot of his work, the movie is a great mix of Comedy and Drama making it a pretty solid Dramedy film. The film is a roller coaster of highs and lows, that while not entirely relatable, there are parts of Davids struggles that everybody can relate too.

The movie however does start off with Vaughn in his typical role, but hold out for a little while an you will be in for a treat, I am not normally one for these "feel good" Dramaedys. However, this one I really enjoyed, it has some very funny scenes an even a few tug on the heart string moments too. Vaughn and Pratt have a perfect dynamic, you would think these guys had been doing collabs together for years, Pratt really serves as the comedic route away from the parts of the movie that bring you down and boy is he great at it!

"Suspiria" remake is official

David Gordon Green has been talking about remaking "Suspiria" for a while now, but it is now official. A press release was issued announcing that the film is scheduled to start filming in September.

"Crime Scene Pictures partners Adam Ripp and Rob Paris today announced they will join forces with producers Francesco Melzi d’Eril (I Am Love, Hotel Rwanda) from Memo Films and Luca Guadagnino (I Am Love) under his First Sun film banner to produce and finance SUSPIRIA, based on Dario Argento’s 1977 film of the same name. David Gordon Green (All the Real Girls, Pineapple Express) will direct from a script he penned with Chris Gebert. Rizal Risjad, Silvia Fendi and Philip Elway will executive produce and Lisa Muskat will co-produce. Wild Bunch plans to sell international territories at Cannes in May while CAA represents the U.S. distribution rights.

Scheduled to begin filming in September, SUSPIRIA is a horror film centred on Suzie, a bright and ambitious American student who travels to Europe to attend a world renowned school. After a fellow student is brutally murdered and several other cruel and strange homicides disrupt the once quiet life on campus, Suzie realises that the academy may be a front for a more menacing organisation. Casting is already underway including for the coveted role of Suzy, the American student.

Crime Scene Pictures partners Ripp and Paris said: “We love the style and energy of the original film – and David’s script brilliantly updates the world, presenting a rare opportunity to create an elegant, classic horror film.” Producers Luca Guadagnino and Francesco Melzi d’Eril said: “We welcome Crime Scene Pictures to the team as we are thrilled to bring SUSPIRIA to life with an amazing talent such as David Gordon Green.” First Sun and Francesco Melzi d’ Eril produced the golden globe and BAFTA nominated film I Am Love starring Tilda Swinton and upcoming The LandLords.

Crime Scene Pictures is currently in pre-production on EVERLY, a thriller starring Kate Hudson with Joe Lynch directing from a Black List script by Yale Hannon which Sierra / Affinity virtually sold out on at EFM in Berlin last month"

"Silent House" new clips

Three new clips for the upcoming horror "Silent House" have made their way online, the film is out in theatres May 4th UK and I believe it is already out in the US.

"Silent House" motion poster

This is the first "motion poster" I've ever seen, it is safe to safe that I absolutely love them! They add an extra fear to original posters, they're are creepy and scary but do the job of "normal" posters even better. I say keep making them.

"Silent House" stills and promotional

"Silent House" the upcoming horror has started its promotional rounds today, beginning with its viral campaign.
"A red tin box showed up at our offices containing a bunch of goodies, including an exclusive image from the movie that is arriving from Open Road Films."
That is directly from ShockTillYouDrop's website, a very respected movie website in my eyes.
"In addition to the red box, we received a t-shirt, a lock, a flashlight, a flash drive and a Polaroid.

We were also instructed to head to Whyisthishappeningtome.net and enter a pass code on a select Polaroid. Once that code was entered, the blank Polaroid turned into an image. As you'll see, there are other photographs on that site that need to be unlocked, so keep checking that spot."

"Silent House" official trailer

A trailer for the American remake of the Uruguayan horror film "Silent House", has just came online. My mate told me last year about the Spanish language version and was looking forward to watching it, now we have an English version this film will get a lot more acclaim. Directed by film making duo Chris Kentis and Laura Lau, they bring us a single-take film and stars Elizabeth Olsen (sister of the Olsen twins).

"A young woman's panic grows into terror as she finds herself sealed insider her family's crumbling lake house. With no electricity and no contact to the outside world, events throughout the house become increasingly frightening and bloody"
