Skull Island getting a rewrite from Academy Award nominee

Deadline are reporting that Legendary Pictures upcoming King Kong prequel "Skull Island" is getting a re-write from Academy Award nominated screenwriter John Gatins who was nominated for his writing on the 2012 film "Flight". The first draft was written by Max Borenstein who penned this years blockbuster "Godzilla". As it stands all we know is the film will be a prequel to King Kong we do not know if it is that 1933 or 2005 version, your guess is as good as anybodies.

I personally am not familiar with this whole King Kong world, I have never taken an interest in it, however this "Skull Island" is shaping up to be a good film. I may have to go back in the catalogue and catch up on this franchise.
