Magnet announces new female directed Horror anthology

Last year it was announced on Shock Till You Drop that an all female directed Horror anthology was in the works, Magnet have now officially announced "XX". Magnet have announced that not only will "XX" be completely female directed but will also feature females in all the leads.

"XX" is being brought to us by XYZ films and will be an anthology comprised of short Horror films by Karyn Kusama (Jennifers Body), Mary Harron (American Psycho), Jennifer Lynch (Surveillance) and Jovanka Vuckovic. The directors have been given completely free creative rein just have to stay within the Horror genre.

“Magnet has been the home to the most exciting anthology horror films of the last several years, and we’re very pleased to continue the trend with 'XX'. We’re especially excited about the caliber of filmmakers involved with this anthology, and the fresh approach that it’s taking to the horror genre,” said Magnolia President Eamonn Bowles.

"We believe strongly in fostering the best talents around the world at XYZ. We believe different perspectives are what keep storytelling fresh and exciting and hope that XX can help to encourage more female writers and directors to explore the genre world. And we know the ones we have for this first effort are going to absolutely kick ass," said XYZ's Todd Brown.
