It shouldn't come as a shock to anybody that "The Avengers" is kicking ass in monetary terms in the theatre/cinema. It is breaking lots of records out that, probably a lot more than anticipated. The statistics are correct as of May 13th 11:30pm.
- Highest opening weekend for any film - $207,348,708.
- Highest second weekend for any film - $103,163,000.
- Highest summer weekend - $207,348,708.
- Highest opening weekend adjusted for inflation - $207,348,708.
- Theatre average - wide release - $47,698.
- 3D gross during opening weekend - $108 million.
- IMAX gross during opening weekend - $15.3 million.
- Opening 7 day release for any film - $270, 019, 373.
- Days to reach $100 million - 2 days (equal with "Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 2")
- Days to reach $200, $250, $300, $350 million worldwide - 3, 6, 9, 10 days.
- Days to reach $1 billion - 19 (Equal with "Avatar" and "Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 2")
