It has been much talked about in recent weeks/months about a possible "I Am Legend" sequel/prequel, it was even spoke about before the film was even released. Warner Bros recently announced that the film was moving forward, they have just closed a deal with producer Akiva Goldsmith and Overbrook Entertainment. While they are wishing for Will Smith's return to the project, there has been no confirmation of this as of yet.
Arash Amel has been brought onto the project to write the script an it is being reported that Will Smith will not put his name to the project until he reads the script. The most interesting part of the report is that it is being reported that it is NOT going to be a prequel, which makes me wonder how on earth they will move the project further considering what happened to Smith's character in "I Am Legend".
